Film My Design Mentorship
The Emerging Local Talents (ELT) is an online mentorship program that targets Egypt-based, aspiring designers and filmmakers. The program will support creatives in developing their practice by working closely and receiving mentorship from professionals in the creative industry.
Upon acceptance, each team of participating designers and filmmakers will work hand-in-hand to produce eye-opening, educational, impactful and inspiring short films that respond to the program's theme “Mission Green!”. The theme explores the intersection of design, architecture, and city life with the environment and climate change. Each team will work for a period of 7 months (from November 2022 to May 2023) to shoot, edit and produce a film along with a trailer. The assigned program mentors, Mohamed Elshahed (Independent Author and Curator) and Tamer Shaaban (Film Director) will advise the participants on all aspects of their film production, including concept development, shooting, editing and post-production.
The final films will be screened at the 3rd edition of the FMD festival in 2024
